G.Zampieri is born in Venice and lives currently in Rome.

Since 1992, when he won the Mattia Battistini Opera Contest in Rieti, he has began an international career performing in various theatres in Italy (Bologna, Venezia, Genova, Roma, Palermo, Catania, Torino etc.) and outside Italy (Francoforte, Bonn, Lima, Zurigo, Budapest, Praga, Monte-Carlo, Taipei etc.).

He joined some of the major roles of the italian and french repertoire appearing with artists like Bruson, Nucci, Dessì, Furlanetto, Raimondi, Salvadori, Valayre, Pons, under Conductors as Kuhn, Arena, Santi, Bartoletti, Guadagno, Nelson, Oren, Severini, and Directors as Fassini, De Tomasi, De Ana, Cavani, Savary, Tarant. In 2005 he performed “Guntram” by R.Strauss in Catania (National Premiere) and he’s been guest of the Prague National Opera for “Jenufa”: he has won the “Libusek” Prize of the Tzchech Press Association for his interpretation of Laca. Then he sang in the new production of Verdi’s “Otello” in Ankara. During the summer he debouted in R.Wagner’s “Gotterdammerung” (Siegfried) and he sang again “Guntram”in Erl Festival under the direction of G.Kuhn. In October he’s been back in Ostrava for a new production of “Rusalka” by Dvorak and in December he returned for a new production of “The Greek Passions” by Martinu. In 2007 he performed “Conchita” by Zandonai in Bolzano, “Attila” in National Theatre in Prague, and he debouted “Tristan und Isolde” in Erl, performing again even Siegfried in “Gotterdammerung”. Then he joined a new co-production of Alfano’s “Cyrano de Bergerac” for Karlsruhe and Ostrava. For this performance he won the Thalia Prize 2008 in Prague. In June he has been invited by Karlsruhe for a new production of “Otello”. In september he debouted the role of Bacchus (Ariadne auf Naxos) in Bratislava, and in january 2008 he was again Bacchus in Prague National Theatre. In February 2008 he sang “Rusalka”

in a new production in Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. In march he was “Andrea Chénier” in Livorno. In april he was in Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City for the mexican premiere of “Jenufa” with Catherine Malfitano. In may he sang both “Pagliacci” and “La lupa” (by M.Tutino) in a new production of NDM. Then he was in Karlsruhe for “Cyrano de Bergerac” in July. In november he was invited by Puccini Festival of Bucarest for “Tosca” and “Manon Lescaut”. In december he debouted as Albert Gregor in the new production of “The Makropulos case” in Prague’ s National Theatre. In 2009 he was back in Karlsruhe for Otello and Cyrano, then he was invited in Tirana for “Andrea Chènier”. Then he was in Lecce for new productions of “Fliegende Hollander” and “Norma”. He also performed the world premiere of F.Zigante’s “Il lago delle fate”, and he debouted in the title role of “Dalibor” in Litomysl Festival.

During the summer he also appeared in “Tosca” in Aspendos and in “Aida”

in Prague State Opera. In October and november he will perform “Aida”

in Japan with Prague State Opera. In 2010 he will return in Prague National Theatre for “Makropulos”, and in Karlsruhe for Cyrano. He will also sing in Holland in a new production of "Norma" and he will debout as “Tannhauser” in Teatro Verdi di Trieste.

In 2011 he will perform the new production of Janacek's "From a house of dead" in Prague National Theatre, conducted by T.Netopil.
